I’m Semmie. This is my blog. And yes, I am barefooted.

Some days, this is a blog about theology. Some days, it is a blog about culture. Some days, it is about my latest craft. And very soon, it will be about the Detroit Tigers a little bit, too. Most days, it is just about an opinionated girl who likes to write.

I live in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Sometimes I wish I lived somewhere more exciting, like Seattle, but most days, I am thankful to be in such a laid back part of the world. It enables me to feed my obsessions–reading, sewing, paper crafting, ore boats, Lake Superior, writing, writing, writing.

If you want to say hello, you can find me on Twitter or (if you’re old-school) you can email me at barefootedsemmie[at]gmail[dot]com. Of course, if you’re really old-school, like me, and are obsessed with letter writing (I’m talking ink wells, parchment paper, and glorious nib pens), then we can talk about that, too.

Otherwise, sit back, take off your shoes, and jump into the discussion.

Pax Christi!

If I’m not reading – I’m writing and being in Fla. – I’m always barefoot.

I think I’ll leave my comment here. I am now following your (well written) blog, Sarah. I like your style of writing. I read the post on Please Reply (or similar title). Very convicting! I have missed comments because I didn’t see them (if they don’t come to my email, I forget to check other sites where my blog posts), even though I naturally like to reply to emails or other contacts as soon as I get them or at least as soon as I am able. Such good reminders in your post all around. I need to print your post and pin it on the wall in front of me … except I’m running out of room for sticking things on the wall!
We are sister Michiganders, by the way. I grew up in west central MI near Grand Rapids. Out in the country, four miles from the small town where my dad practiced medicine, we attended church and I went to school through seventh grade. We vacationed (tent camping) more than once at Fortune Lakes in the UP and I have such good memories of those times. It is beautiful up there! Thanks for following my blog, and buying my book! God bless you.

Well! I have a soft spot for my Michigander sisters! So glad we’ve connected! Thank you for your kind words. I also try to reply right away or as soon as I can, because I am prone to forgetting… a touch of Brain Fog in my head most days. đŸ˜‰
