Every word is a brick.

The question is: what are we building? Are we building a place of honor or a place of dishonor? Of faith or folly? Of life or death?

Food for thought.

I try to walk with God, and encourage others in their walk as well.

Hi Pastor Curt. Thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂 I always love to see new faces! I love the word “encourage.” I still remember the first time I really understood what “encouragement” was. I was in the balcony at church talking with one of my best friends. I was crying about some situation, and he spoke very firmly to me. I don’t remember his exact words, but I was surprised. I said, “Come on, can’t you encourage me or something?” And he said, “Sarah, what do you think ENCOURAGE means? I’m trying to help build your courage, not just make you feel better.”

Thanks for sharing! And thanks for serving. 🙂

maybe trying to rebuild a relationship? and/or finally having the strength and confidence in who God has created you to be to be able to say the real heart-to-heart sort of things that you never dreamed you could have the courage to question before?

Even honest words can be spoken out of line or can build walls. Sometimes you have to hammer through the difficult stuff, and I think that’s alright. But keep showing grace wherever you’re able. I know your heart, so I know your intent is not to stir up trouble, but rather–to deal honestly with that situation. And I love you for that. Just remember: even if the two of you aren’t effected by your words toward one another, there is another person who is likely very aware of all that’s being said; and it will effect her a great deal.

I love you, sisssstor! Don’t forget to charge your thingamajiggy so you can whatchamacallme when you’re driving whereverintheworldyou’redriving tomorrow!

yes, the little ears… and the effects of those words do have potential to slice the toughest of tree bark as if it was a fine tomato. true true.

God give me wisdom to speak the right words in the right context.
